Decisions, Decisions

Image result for a decision you must make yodaMany years ago, when I was in sixth grade, I had to make a decision: Did I want to stay in a monolingual class or go back to bilingual class. My decision was to go back to a bilingual class because I felt that it was the best option. I felt this way because I was going to keep learning English at a steady pace and not just into a world where I needed to have mastered the English language, which I had not. I was in the class for about 1 to 2 weeks and seeing that I was struggling and that I was not at the same pace as the rest of my classmates had the greatest influence on me to go back to a bilingual class. If I picked to remain in the class, I would have had to try even harder to keep up with everyone else and maybe pushed myself harder to keep up and do better. But what other decisions would I have made after deciding to stay in that class? There is no way to be certain of what was going to happen; Would I have become a F, D, C, B or an A student? Would I be in NJCU? Every decision we take leads to more decisions to be taken. Taking another direction can change you drastically.

The problem is that picking an alternative can lead to the same path as the other option because of many decisions we have to make. One decision can change your lifestyle, but they can also lead you to where you are today. If I had picked to stay in the class, I might had still picked to go to NJCU and be the same person I am now. There is no certainty of what the future holds in hands for us. Once a decision is taken, we can only imagine what could have happened if we had picked the other option.
